As we prepare the next budget, we want the Norristown community to know about the general operating budget for 2021. Preliminarily, the $37.2 million budget is facing a $2.5 million shortfall. Public hearings began in early October. Council is expected to hear about the proposed $36.3 million budget at their Oct. 20 work session which will then be advertised to the public.
The first public hearings on the budget were on Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 12 p.m.. An upcoming hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. You can participate in the hearings by calling 1 (224) 501-3412, Access Code: 743-395-869.
