The Norristown community is invited to learn about economic development initiatives and projects during a special event next week.
Municipal and other local leaders will meet at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit on Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. to highlight the progression of development projects throughout the municipality. This special forum will highlight economic development successes that will bring new job opportunities and housing options to Norristown.
The Municipal Council of Norristown has made smart real estate investments and the implementation of new programs to continue the boost of development in town. New development, from Main Street to Johnson Highway, will increase the tax base which will yield positive effects to the continued financial stability of the municipality, and improved property values for taxpayers.
“We are excited by what we have been able to accomplish to open more opportunities for development in Norristown,” said Municipal Council President Derrick Perry. “Our community will benefit by those who want to invest in new opportunities for Norristown, and homeowners now have better incentive to do large-scale improvements to their homes. Council will continue to look for ways to encourage further investment in Norristown as the best place to live and work.”
Learn more about these projects and some of the initiatives that have fueled development – including, but not limited to, the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) program- at this forum.
