NORRISTOWN- Homeowners in the Municipality of Norristown will have a few more hours during the day to pay their real estate tax bills in the coming weeks.

Starting April 10, 2023, the municipal Finance Department will extend its hours at temporary municipal offices at 1700 Markley St., Suite 104 to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Regular municipal office hours for Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will not change. This extension of business hours during the busy tax season is a component of the Municipality’s new Flex Schedule Pilot Program and will give a little extra time during the week to accommodate people who may not, otherwise, be able to make a payment during regular business hours.

Real estate tax bills were mailed out in February and offer an early two percent discount period through April 17, 2023. Face value of the real estate bill is due by June 15. A 10 percent penalty will be added to real estate taxes paid between June 16 and Dec. 31, 2023. The municipal finance department collects real estate taxes for the Municipality, Montgomery County and Montgomery County Community College, and your trash collection fee (unless you are paying on a commercial property).

Tax bills can also be paid online on thefinance department’s page at Norristown.org.

Any tax bill payment must be made in full. Payment plans are not an option.

If you have questions about your tax bill call 610-270-0431 or email realestatetaxes@norristown.org
