Nov. 4 municipal-wide dumpster clean up event

The bi-annual municipal-wide cleanup event returns to Norristown on Nov. 4.

This program, part of the municipality’s contract with J.P. Mascaro & Sons, will again place over a dozen, 30-cubic yard dumpsters at select locations in town for residents to discard bulk trash or other solid waste in their homes. This can be old furniture, trash, or other non-electronic/non-hazardous waste. There is absolutely no charge to drop anything off in these dumpsters. Contractors are not allowed to use these dumpsters to discard of their construction trash and should make appropriate accommodations to have their trash and waste removed.

Dumpsters will be placed at the following locations and will be available for use at 6 a.m. and will remain until full. (NOTE- Most of these sites will have two dumpsters.)

Municipal Hall (235 E. Airy Street)

Arch & Oak streets

Corson & Marshall streets

Haws Avenue & Marshall Street

Haws Avenue & Washington Street

Buttonwood & Elm streets

Pine & Fornance streets

Roberts Street (Norris Hills)

Guardino Park (1200 block of West Lafayette Street)

Municipal staff will be available at the various dumpster locations to ensure only residents are dropping off their discarded items. Identification, or other proof of residency, may be asked of people who are getting rid of their waste at the dumpsters. Contractors are not allowed to use these dumpsters to discard of their construction trash and should make appropriate accomodaMovingOutTrashPSAAug2023tions to have their trash and waste removed.

BONUS: Moving out? consider a consultation with Mascaro to get a small dumpster out front of your house to haul trash away. You can read more about that service in this online flyer.

Please review this mailer sent out by Mascaro that details bulk items we can collect. ELECTRONIC AND HAZARDOUS WASTE CANNOT BE DISPOSED OF IN THESE DUMPSTERS!
